Goodbye Year 5

It is with heavy hearts and sad faces that we send our final goodbyes to you today.  We haven’t been able to enjoy the year we had planned, but the time that we did have with you was amazing.  Every single one of you has a wonderful and individual personality.  As a group, you are an outstanding class.  Make us proud in Year 6 and show Mrs Boddy what you are capable of!

We hope that you like the class Bitmoji we have made.  If you have any problems downloading it, please email me and I will send it to you.

Sending you all big virtual hugs!

Lots of love from Miss Harrison and Mrs Jones

Year 5 Seesaw is back!

Good morning Year 5!

Some great news for you – we have upgraded our subscription to Seesaw so I am able to set you more home learning tasks!  🙂

I have set your English and Maths for today and I am currently adding a couple of tasks for this afternoon.  Please keep uploading your work to the activities I have set.

We only have two weeks left so lets work really hard right up until the end of term. 🙂

Best wishes,

Miss Harrison and Mrs Jones.

Year 5 Seesaw

Good morning Year 5,

We have got a problem with the Year 5 Seesaw this morning and I am unable to set your usual work on our online platform today.  Please can you locate your usual online work and complete it in your home learning book.  This includes:

Maths – White Rose Maths Home Learning; Gareth Metcalfe Home Lesson.

English – Oak National Academy Tuesday lesson.

Geography – BBC Home Lessons, Year 5, Geography, The Galapagos Islands.

I will let you know when the issue with Seesaw is resolved.  You can still access all of the previous activities I have set, so if you still have any work that you need to catch up on, you can still access all of these.  Keep working hard Year 5 – you only have 14 days left in Year 5  🙁

From Miss Harrison and Mrs Jones.

Update to Maths Home Learning

Happy Monday Year 5!

We would like to make you aware of a change to our Maths home learning.  Rather than using My Maths, I have put a video lesson and worksheet activity on Seesaw.  The rest of your Maths home learning is the same, so you should be competing the following daily:

Mental Maths (15 mins) Schofield and Sims

Maths Skills (15 mins) Corbett Maths 5 a day

Maths Lesson:  Gareth Metcalfe Home Lessons (20-25 mins)

Maths Lesson: Seesaw White Rose Maths Lesson (20-25 mins)

If you have any problems with your child’s home learning, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Best wishes from Miss Harrison and Mrs Jones.

English work w/c 27.04.20

Hello Year 5!

We hope that you have had a fantastic weekend and enjoyed some of the lovely sunshine we have been having.

As I am aware that many of you have now completed, or are coming to the end of completing, your English pack of work,  I am going to use Seesaw as a way of setting your English work until we get back to school.  I might also use Seesaw to set other work too.

I have uploaded the first English task for this week onto Seesaw.  All the instructions for the activity are uploaded, along with a video link and a template for you to complete the task onto.  We are really looking forward to seeing your fantastic work!

If you have any problems, please do email me.

Enjoy your writing tasks!

From Miss Harrison and Mrs Jones.

Home learning update: Introducing Seesaw Year 1-6

We hope you and your families are keeping safe and well at this time. Staff are working daily to provide you with learning opportunities and we would like to enhance what we offer further and try to help you as parents.

We are introducing  Seesaw. Like lots of things, this is something new to us all and we would appreciate your support and patience with it. We understand that homeschooling alongside running the home and possibly working from home can be challenging. We just want you to have access to learning materials to use as best fits you and ultimately want the children to be safe and happy.

The first step: Could you please send your class teacher an email so they can send you your child’s unique home learning code.

When you have your unique code, you can log in on the seesaw app or online.
